How fragile is man, you asked?
We train till our muscles groan in an attempt to prove our strengths,
work late into the night to show our disciplineand
fight desperately for our lives in the battlefields
but something as insignificant as a failed romance or
a rude comment can cause us to fling ourselves over the edge.
Alas. We are spiritual beings.
We need to be nurtured in our spirits and souls much greater than in our bodies.
A strong mind can sustain a weak body but a weak mind will lead to ruins the strongest of bodies. We can live without food for days but a person without love will die for sure.
Let's forget about our bodies for a while and consider this,
if everything about our physical bodies was just imputed into us by God,
that is we have no control over our bodies at all,
isn't it more relevant that we left what's God's to God's hands
and concentrated more on developing what we do have control over?
A kind soul
An encouraging voice
An inquisitive mind
and a fighting spirit.
Just as a child does not have control over the wealth of his family,
a soul has no control over the health of its body.
It has never been up to us to earn our health and blessings.
God freely gives to us everything.
Father, bless your holy name for you are worthy of praise. Amen. Bless the world according to the riches of your grace so that all might see your love and be silenced in their complains and faithlessness. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Never to retreat and never to surrender. Give them nothing but take from them everything.
- 300 the movie
I'm giving it all it've got. "to the death in the battlefield is the greatest glory a soldier could achieve"
Does it really matter that nothing comes out of it at the end of the day? haha... It's not as if I've never failed before. Don't give up. Courage is the only thing you've got now. Remember.
Ouch. The pain and regret that comes after a badly fought round of sparring can leave your heart feeling more tormented than your body. It's true. Nothing burns worse than the knowledge that there was sth else you could have done, sth more that you could have said or things that you could have resisted doing. Regret - the necessary "what if" in all of our lives.
I have discovered an effective way of avoiding this what if and would love to put it out for criticism :)
Step 1) When some wacky idea pops into your mind, ask yourself, "how bad can it go?" If it's something which has no impact on anyone or perhaps just your image. JUST DO IT! You know you're thinking too much when you have this mini CBA going on in your mind for more than 5 minutes. Seriously, why waste time thinking about something that you're ultimately going to reject anyway. If you're thinking about it, you've prob decided to do it already. So, What are you waiting for? (P.S. why let your reluctance to LOSE FACE be such an impediment to you living life to the max. It's not worth it. No one remembers what embarassing thing you've done really)
Step 2) When you've committed in your heart to do something, tell someone about it (Prefably a bastardice enemy of yours) . This will make it so much harder to pass up the committment and cause you to work harder.
Step 3) Live every day to the fullest. Whether it is time to rest and play or time to work, make sure that you're having the time of your life. Making the day as productive as you can manage. So even if you couldn't accomplish as much as you have intended, you'll know that you've tried your best!
Step 4) Live everyday as if it's a new day, don't feel dragged behind by yesterday's mistakes or divinised by its victories. Remember, you're in control of the way the day turns out. What's happened in the past is over and what's going to happen tmr is out of your control.
Step 5) Just relax and treasure all your friends and loved ones. You know you're blessed when someone bothers to read your blog after a miserable day at school/work! Thanks guys.. Love ya all.
P.S. Chris is living for UK tmr. I'm already missing her. : ( I pray that everything goes perfectly and she'll be back asap!
Plus, the club went for Sakura dinner at Clementi woods yesterday. Awesome food at only 26 bucks! Life rocks
