Today, NUSTKD performed at TTSH for a special Mid-autumn fest demonstration. I really enjoyed myself, mostly because of the hospitality of the staff at the hospital. The reception they provided was phenomenal - beef meatballs, fruit tarts and choc eclairs of uncompromising quality. Plus, I really enjoy the food at the foodcourt there too!
The glass art suspended from the ceiling was simply breathtaking. Really encourages me to find out more about the art of glass making, which I am so curious about already. I've attached a photo of it below so that you can have a taste of the beauty that captivated me this afternoon.
Having said that, I must thank my parents for buying me a new 8 megapixel cam from Olympus for my birthday. Without them, none of these shots would have been possible!
P.S. Do visit my online jewellery store at seato.blogspot.com k? I've worked quite hard on it and the photos are finally clearer now! Praise be to God.

I wrote a poem over breakfast today at the Arts Canteen. Got all poetic when i saw this scrawny middle-aged lady terrorising a sweet young thing at a table near mine.
Hope you'll like it.
Swept Away (In the University Canteen)
It's true isn't it?
The people who have been suffering under
the rigid claws of society's demands
are the same people who struggle
to keep these expectations alive.
A mother- thin, prim and aged with stress
Nags at her daughter to get a grip of her life.
"Study!" she says,
"Get the grades that you need!
You think you have a choice around here?
No one does"
All the time, the daughter prays
she will not become a younger version of her mum.
"OK mum, I'll try my best!"
But in her heart, she says
"Whatever, you shrivelled up old prune,
i couldn't give a damn"
This carries on for awhile,
With onlookers wondering if they should care
or think anything of it at all.
This picture, this scene, these emotions
are too familiar to us all.
Then the mother lays hands on the child
And prays for her.
"At last, they've remembered the lamb of God
and forgotten themselves."
The mother stands to her feet and walks away.
The girl follows with a smile on her face.
"She's my caregroup leader" she tells me
"But I couldn't wish for a better teacher"
Alas, it was only my imagination.
What a load of misinterpretation!
The Lord makes all things beautiful in their time.
I hope that soon it'll be mine.
(Note my feeble attempt to rhyme in the final stanza :P justifies this to be a poem. haha)
P.S the AGM and BBQ were a success. Below's a picture of me with my friend Hamzah and cookies that I've made for the event. Quite a hit i must assure you! and forgive me for my corny grin. thought it'd go well with the motherly impression.
